Our Favorite Podcasts

One of the ways we pass the time between WDW trips is listening to podcasts.  And if we have a trip coming up soon, we’ll save up several to listen on the road.

These shows are also a great way to stay up to date with all the changes and news coming from Walt Disney World.

What is a podcast?

Podcasts are episodes of a program available on the Internet. Podcasts are usually original audio or video recordings. – Apple.com

Typically people listen download and listen to them on their phone or tablet.  You can subscribe to the shows to have the automatically downloaded when new episodes are available.

Walt Disney World Podcasts

In the online Disney community there are dozens of podcasts!  You can spend hours each week listening to shows ranging from news, tips, photography, hidden mickeys, history and more.

Here is what is on our iPhone currently.

WDW Today

WDW Today is hosted by a group of 4 Disney park veterans.  The show comes out 3 times a week and last about 30 minutes.  They pack in Disney knowledge, tips, and news into just a few minutes.  One of the hosts, Len Testa, is the co-author of the Unofficial Guide to Disney World.  He periodically discusses stats, touring plans and other research gained from the book.

Inside the Magic

Inside the Magic is hosted by Ricky Brigante.  Ricky lives in Orlando and visits the all the local parks often.  This show is more in depth, and covers more than just Walt Disney World.  The shows are usually 60-90 minutes.  You can hear interviews with Disney Cast Members involved in the planning of new attractions at lots of press events.   The InsidetheMagic.net website is also a fantastic reference for Disney info.

WDW Radio

WDW Radio is hosted by Lou Mongello.  WDW Radio is the ultimate Disney podcast with news, interviews, and special segments.  Lou loves the history and details of the parks.  He readily shares his knowledge.  You’ll gain a deeper appreciation of how the Disney Magic created through Lou.  WDW Radio is a longer show though, usually lasting 90+ minutes.   He does do a shorter show of just news once a week also.
